This card is available to people who have completed certain construction related degrees, HNDs, HNCs, CIOB Certificates and NEBOSH diplomas.

Requirements for this card
Applicants will need to supply proof that they hold current membership of the professional body at a level accepted by CSCS, by providing one of the following (please note that membership is required to be renewed annually and the below evidence must confirm membership for the current calendar year):
- A membership certificate (which shows membership for the current calendar year)
- A membership card (both sides, confirming membership for the current calendar year)
- An up-to-date letter or email from the professional body confirming membership for the current calendar year
- A receipt of payment for membership for the current calendar year

This card is available for manager and technical occupations subject to:
- Achievement of a relevant Construction Management/Technical related NVQ/SVQ level 5, 6 or 7
- A SVQ Level 4 in Construction Management/Technical related qualification or
- Holding a pre-existing NVQ level 4 in construction management.

You can apply for this card if you have either:
- Achieved a construction related NVQ or SVQ level 2
or
- Completed an apprenticeship, such as an Employer sponsored apprenticeship, a City and Guilds of London Institute Craft Certificate or a CSCS Approved Trailblazer

This card is available if you have either:
- Achieved a Construction Related NVQ or SVQ level 3
- Completed an approved indentured apprenticeship (e.g.with NJCBI, BATJIC etc.)
- Completed an employer sponsored apprenticeship which included the achievement of a City and Guilds of London Institute Advanced Craft Certificate.

This card is available for supervisor and technical occupations subject to the achievement of:
- Construction Related Supervisory/Technical NVQ or SVQ Level 3 or 4
- Occupational Work Supervision NVQ or SVQ Level 3 (including proof of endorsed occupation).

Applicants must have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within the past two years.
This card lasts for six months and is not renewable. Before it expires Provisional card holders must achieve or be registered for a recognised construction related qualification and apply for the appropriate CSCS card for their job.

This card is valid for four years and six months, and cannot be renewed. Cardholders are expected to complete their apprenticeship by the time the card expires and apply for a skilled CSCS card.
This card is available to people who have commenced on a recognised apprenticeship framework.
To apply for this card you will be required to submit evidence that you are registered for an apprenticeship with one of the following:
- A letter or email from the Managing Agency of your apprenticeship, confirming that you are registered with them and which qualifications (with full titles and pathways) you are registered for
- A letter from your apprenticeship training provider confirming that you are registered with them and which qualifications (with full titles and pathways) you are registered for
- Your Apprenticeship Agreement, provided that it shows the occupation and qualification (including pathways) you are registered for.
- A letter from your training provider delivering a CSCS Approved Trailblazer Apprenticeship (England Only)

This temporary card is available if you are a trainee and registered to complete a construction related qualification. The qualification may be vocational, academic or professional, but must be acceptable for a skilled CSCS card.
Applicants must also have passed the Operative level CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within the last 2 years.
Trainee card applicants must be able to provide proof of registration onto their qualification. As a minimum, you are required to provide evidence from your University, Professional Body or Training Organisations awarding body that includes:
- Applicants Name
- Full qualification title of the NVQ/SVQ course you are registered to, including level
- Date of registration (must be in the last 2 years)

Experienced Worker card applicants must be able to provide proof of registration onto their NVQ/SVQ qualification. As a minimum, you are required to provide evidence from your Training Organisation awarding body that must include:
- Applicants Name
- Full qualification title of the NVQ/SVQ course you are registered to, including level
- Date of registration (must be in the last 2 years)
This temporary card is available specifically for workers with on the job experience (normally at least one year in the last three) who are registered to a complete a Construction Related NVQ or SVQ Level 2 or higher which is acceptable for a CSCS card.
Based on the above: Have you completed the above and never held a Red CSCS Card previously?
This temporary card is available specifically to Supervisors, Managers and Technical Workers with on the job experience (normally at least one year in the last three) whom are registered to a complete a Construction Related Technical, Supervisory or Management NVQ or SVQ at Level 3 or higher, which is acceptable for a CSCS card.
Applicants must also have passed the appropriate level CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within the last 2 years.
CSCS recognised NVQ/SVQ qualifications and the relevant HSE test level can be checked using the CSCS Card Finder.
